TAKE TIME TO TALK

TAKE TIME TO TALK, a program created by Stages of Imagination, promotes communication between you & your child.  By watching our DVD together, you create a shared experience, the basis of many conversations. TAKE TIME TO TALK gives suggestions to start the talking. With a 3 year old, sing the songs, ask what things mean; 4 year olds may be  ready to talk about characters and situations; 5 year olds, about options etc. As your child matures, conversation continues & deepens.  Through conversations with your child, as you drive, eat, walk etc., you have the opportunity to explain your own values based on your shared experience with the DVD.

 

TAKE TIME TO TALK features open-ended questions that give adults ideas about starting conversations with children about the life skills and character-education themes highlighted in Stages of Imagination plays (3 years old and up). The TAKE TIME TO TALK feature is based on the educational material written by Dr. James Comey. The material begins on the individual DVD and CD inside cover. Take Time to Talk is a springboard for discussions about appropriate behavior of all kinds for your child throughout his or her childhood (responsibility, integrity, awareness, caring, respect, tolerance, self-reliance, problem- solving, setting goals, perseverance, learning from the journey, flexibility, conflict resolution, resourcefulness, self-control, cooperation, courage, curiosity, effort, friendship, initiative, common sense, and patience).
